Wow. Not sure which rower impresses me more. They were lucky not to be waked by some obnoxious launch boat at the start, but that gives a selective advantage to those who did NOT start out ahead. Once you get waked, you're toast. Kolb looked so effortless...

Kolbe seemingly came out of nowhere — wow!
It's insane how far *behind* him his oars are when Karpinnen makes the catch! And after watching our own hands in a sweep, it looks bizarre how far outside the boat their hands are at the catch.
