Damn, I love the Brits. Mark de Rond (sounds like a Belgian, who knows?) has written a book called The Last Amateurs which details the 2007 Boat Race which has been called the finest in recent history (Magnuson, personal communication). He goes through the training, the eating, the puking, the BM's. But what sets the Brits apart from other minor English speaking countries is that the Guardian has former Oxford coach, Daniel Topolski review the book! www.guardian.co.uk/books/2008/aug/16/sportandleisure.healthmindandbody?gusrc=rss&feed=booksEnjoy

First there was the 2007 Boat Race. Then there was our epic and spectral water row on Wednesday. Now we have The Last Amateurs? I am stoked.

A couple days ago, President Jim and I sat on the ergs and pondered the inponderable: just how bad do you feel when you lose The Boat Race. We both agreed that we felt like shit after the Cambridge loss and we really had almost nothing invested in the race-reading few articles on the internet, a movie about Oxford, and a Facebook Friend. Alistair Potts, Cambridge Blue and cox penned the following piece about losing. newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Rec/rec.sport.rowing/2009-04/msg00174.html
