I was getting lost in the last thread.
What's the deal on Wednesday? I don't think I can get the cox for then.

I can help move the boat on Wednesday, but it seems we'd be cox-less. I cannot help move the boat on Thursday. I could move the boat on Friday. I could move the boat between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. I could move the boat virtually any time on Sunday.

Thom had kind of a Dr. Seuss thing going there. Thom, you are absolutely correct that seat numbering begins with Seat 1 in bow and counts up toward stern. I will have to confer with my old rowing buddy, RowerRob, because I swear to Krishna, Vishnu, and Shiva, as well as God and his bro Alla, that we ALWAYS counted upward from stroke seat. I guess we were wrong.
I am free for Wednesday. it sounds like we can row, albeit without a cox, on Wednesday. Then we can figure out our next outing at that time?

I can move the boat on Wed, but we don't have a cox
I can move the boat on Thursday, and Carol will step and help carry the boat and row a seat (any port in a storm). She'll do quite well. We'll still need a cox.
I can also move the Saturday or Sunday and Carol can cox.

I'm out for Wednesday. So let's shoot for Thursday with Carol in Thom's spot.

Again, we're looking at gusty winds, but maybe not quite so gusty as the last couple of days. We have to move the boat, though, so I think we need to take a shot at it this afternoon. 4:45? Little Grassy Marina?

We'll do it because there's not a better shit weather crew on the lake.

As you can see, I have made the sun rise. I'll see what I can do about the wind, but I'm sure our shit weather crew will do just fine.

The whole process went remarkably well. It was...well pretty windy and we had some pretty good waves around the Strait of Hormuz. But our coxwains, Helen and Annie navigated an excellent course and super sub Carol kept the boat running hot straight and true. She did a great job in rough conditions.
The re-adjusted rigging on the boat was very good and the boatman deserves a pat on his back.
And very importantly, we have moved the boat out of Touch of Nature's way and put it into a nice location to launch and land the boat.
Logistically, I have the oars in my garage and the life jackest will be on our pontoon boat in the marina. I would love to go rowing with all of you everytime, but that isn't going to happen. So if four oarsmen can find a cox. stop on by the hatchery to pick up the oars and get the life jackets from the boat. I'll show you where. We have a great opportunity to row on a great lake. Let's take the advantage.

Nice job, everyone! Definitely some rough seas out there yesterday.
Next thing we need to do, as the Admiral suggests, is get ourselves organized and get out on the water more often.
And hey, Jim shoudl be back next week!

That was a great outing, and I hope we can have many more. Maybe once Jim returns, Rebecca could be persuaded to take out a launch boat...
Bohemian Rowing made me fall off my chair. Very impressive:).
On a related note, I recently saw a headline about a parent being arrested at the local middle school. If that scenario explains why we do have a coxswain, I shall remain ignorant by not reading that article.
