5 sounds good to me. Thom, 5a is actually not unrealistic. Back in the day, I rowed at 6a on the water, and our morning SlackErg crew has always started at 6a here at the rec.
I checked the weather for tomorrow, and it is supposed to be sunny with a high of 69F, so hopefully we'll have good conditions.

Should be a nice outing! 5 p.m. Alan, do you have a 6th-grade size life-vest for our 6th-grade cox?

So we're all-systems-go for tonight at 5. I'm picking up my daughter at 4 and will try to be out there a little early, to give her an idea of what she's getting in to.

That was a damn good practice and was fun and hard. I have a hard time believing that it was only our second time out. Moving the boat up and down the lake was a good feeling as was the ability to steer. Three cheers for the Coxswain! It is a nice crew to belong. However this should no be interpreted as being closed communion. If you want to row, please sound off and show up at a practice. We can run a least a couple of practices a week if we have people who want to row.

And I second everything else from the Admiral -- great fun it was and a good workout, too. Better every time, mates! As the crow flies from the beach to the Spillway looks to be about 2,000m. So the bends here and there as the boat goes looks like it's probably 2K with ease each way. See map: www.siu.edu/~tmitch/images/MapLittleGrassyLake.gifwith beach and Spillway marked. Indeed, that was a great, great time. A dream come true, really. It was so much fun moving the boat down the lake. And Annie reports that she had a blast and is willing to cox the boat all day, all summer.
