We need to have another Club Meeting, this one not at the ergs but in the Alumni Lounge of the Rec Center. Yes, a more formal meeting where we actually lay out, where we all can hear, the plans for the year and for SIU Rowing in the future. Any thoughts on the best time?

Yeah the boat is the answer - and yes mike and alan can't row in any competition! so we need at least 8 guys and or 8 gals to fill that boat! right?
I have 1/4 page flyers we can hand out to people, and post on boards!
mike you can set the time and date for the next meeting! keep it early (4pm) or late (7pm) to get the most number of people to show up.... how about early next week - then we can get it in the DE with a few days notice, and have time to get posters around campus.
how does Monday at 4:30 sound? we can talk about the boat more then try to get a set workout time(s) give me t-shirts so i can put SIUC rowing logos on them (bring whatever kind of shirt you like to workout in) with a blank back. and hopefully have a bunch more people there to join the club!

Actually, since Club Rowing is not governed the by NCAA, Alan and I probably COULD take a seat in the SIU Crew....Maybe. Seriously, though, next week is too soon for a metting, I believe. We need the flyers to get up and do their work, and a couple of days before the meeting, we need to write the meeting place and time in sidewalk chalk in front of rec. Also, the meeting should be in the evening, so everybody can come. Therefore, let's have the meeting on Monday, Sept 24, at 7 pm.
All in favor?
And a side note: If we get the boat, we will definitely need to commit to team behavior. We will have to have practices early in the morning, at least five mornings a week, and attendance will have to be mandatory.

I am in favor of sept 24 - 7pm
If Stephanie wants to make a flyer that is great, if not - i can whip something up. Jeff Goelz does not HAVE to approve it, but can't hurt to show it to him - and there is somebody in that office (can't remember his name) but he will make copies of flyers for us (for FREE) so lets get that done!
Everyone needs to post as many flyers as they can - and with chalking we should get a few new people - but talk to everyone you know - and try to get people interested.
Mike - if you feel like we need to have mandatory practice at 6am - i will drag my lazy butt out of bed to row - don't expect me to be happy about it! at least 5 days a week - that is going to be the hardest part.... If we can get everyone to bit on that - great i will be there, but it is going to be hard to get 16 + people (8 guys, 8 girls) to wake up that early every day - but i will support this team if that is what it will take.
