Sorry to hear thet, Alan. May the rowing gods and the ghost of Hartwig make you feel better soon!
Nautilus, Thom? First a bicycle steals one of us, and now you may be lost to a non-Concept2 exercise machine. I shudder to think what Topalski would say about this group.
Well, I'm off for a run. Who needs erging?

The Nautilus is the Compound Row machine. It's still for rehabbing the strained back muscle from a half-marathon upstairs three weeks ago. :-\ Even once this thing finally heals, I think I'll keep up the Nautilus because it forces good posture and strengthens all those muscles that support the rhomboid. Next time I get tired and my form goes-all-to-hell for a bit, maybe the strain won't be so bad...
[BTW, I'm probably not available Monday. My older daughter & her bf are coming in from Boston tomorrow to surprise our younger daughter, who is recently back from Paris.]

You're in the clear, Thom. I would suggest doing some planks for your back, though. After our 6 a.m. SlackErg crew started doing planks, erging became much easier.

I have a titanium screw in one of my big toes. Because of that -- range of motion = 0 in that toe joint -- I haven't tried planking...

That's too bad , although, perhaps, you could try one-footed planks. I'm not familiar with the Compound Row machine, but it does sound equally effective, if a bit less efficient.
